Coachella Promoters Have Announced a New UK Festival

Coachella has really kicked off recently. It’s one of those festivals that’s simply a must for anyone into music. It’s a sprawling event that sets the standards to which all other music festivals should strive. Of course, it’s also held in Indio, California, which is, you know, on the other side of the Atlantic, a mere 11-hour plane ride or so from London. Not exactly practical for us Brits on the wrong side of the pond.

So, would we be thrilled to hear that Coachella promoters have announced a new UK festival? You’re damn right we would. In fact, you’re damn right we are, because they’ve gone ahead and done just that.

It’s going to be called the All Points East festival, and it’s set to take place in London’s Victoria Park from Friday 25 June to Sunday 27 June. Sounds great, and the headliners already announced sound even better.

They include:

  • The XX
  • Lorde
  • Bjork
  • LCD Soundsystem
  • Beck
  • Sampha
  • Lykke Li

Further acts include:

  • Glass Animals
  • Richie Hawtin CLOSE
  • Dixon
  • George FitzGerald Live
  • Flying Lotus 3D
  • Mashrou’ Leila
  • Sylvan Esso
  • Alexis Taylor
  • Agoria Live

There are apparently many more to be announced. We’ll also see a wide range of bars selling everything from real ales to elaborate cocktails, plus mouth-watering artisan concessions and producers. We’ve been told this is part of a bid to make Tower Hamlets’ London’s Borough of Culture, so we can expect organisers to pull out all the stops.

As expected, 1 Day, 2 Day & 3 Day Tickets are available. You’ll also be able to pick up All Points VIP passes, which is going to offer you:

  • Dedicated fast track entrance lanes
  • Access to VIP bar, premium food outlets, more comfortable seating arrangements, and enhanced toilet facilities.
  • Extensive range of bars and food concessions.

You’re more than welcome to wait for further information, but All Points East certainly seems to be shaping up into something special, which is just what you’d expect from the organisers behind Coachella. Tickets have been on sale since Friday 3 November, so you might want to get your skates on and pick yours up. For the latest info as it’s made available, keep checking back with the official All Points East website.
