Christmas 2019 is fast approaching and several ice-skating rinks across the UK have already opened up their doors this winter! Getting your skates on and heading to the ice rink creates the ideal opportunity for date night or to keep the kids entertained. Whether it’s your first time on the ice or you’re a regular skater – it’s fun for everyone involved!

  1. Brighton
    Right in front of the spectacular Royal Pavilion, go greener this year and head to Brighton’s Ice-skating Rink, powered completely by wind and solar energy! First-time skaters can head over to the beginners’ area, complete with penguin skate aids. And if you’d rather sit and watch, the rink-side Bar & Kitchen serves up festive treats and drinks. The ice rink is open now until Jan 19th.

 

  1. Somerset House – London
    London’s most beautiful ice rink returns for 2019! One of London’s favourite winter traditions, Skate at Somerset House with Fortnum & Masonhas something for everybody, with skating lessons, late-night DJs and the Fortnum’s Christmas Arcade for seasonal shopping! Enjoy gourmet dining in Fortnum’s Lodge, or soak up the rink atmosphere with a Baileys Hot Chocolate in hand at the Skate Lounge. Open now until Jan 13th.

 

  1. Cardiff
    Cardiff Winter Wonderland is now open! Unveiling its brand-new Alpine Ice Trail for the first time. The Trail will be an open-air ice-skating experience running 250m long, making it amongst one of the longest Ice Trails in Europe and guaranteed to be the only one found in the UK this winter. 300 visitors can enjoy skating on the ice during each skating session.   1. Yorkshire Winter Wonderland – York
    Head to York Designer Outlet this year to experience the centre piece of York’s Winter Wonderland! Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the magical setting makes for a perfect family day out with fun fair rides and the après-skate café overlooking the ice rink. Open now until Jan 5th.
