Wireless Festival

Wireless Festival only first kicked off in 2005, but a score of killer events have seen its popularity and influence snowball within the UK festival arena. How has it done that, I hear you ask? By developing a reputation for bringing in big name acts while still paying plenty of attention to the headline performers of tomorrow.

It’s a festival that has nurtured some of the biggest names in the industry and attracted as a springboard for others. For example, Wireless provided the debut UK headline performances for Drake and Rihanna. It also helped launch Tinie Tempah to a position of immense international influence and provided international acts such as J.Cole their very first opportunity to play to sold-out UK crowds. Further global superstars that have been attracted to Wireless Festival include Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, The Black Eyed Peas, Blake, and Morrissey.

This year, the main stage is set to be similarly beset by top acts. Headliners will include Chance the Rapper, Skepta, and The Weeknd, while other acts include names such as Nas, Tory Lanez, Tim Westwood, Sean Paul, Big Narstie, DJ Charlesy, Nef the Pharaoh, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Section Boyz, The Age of L. U. N. A., and Zara Larsson. All in all, it’s set to be a pretty epic set of nights.

The event will be taking place right in the heart of the capital. London’s Finsbury Park will be crowded from Friday July 7th through to Sunday July 9th. Unfortunately, tickets are now reportedly sold out, but you can keep track of what’s happening by checking with the festival’s blog.

If you were lucky enough to pick up a ticket, remember to download the Wireless Festival app before you make tracks to Finsbury Park. Yes, we do indeed understand the irony of downloading the app for something called the Wireless Festival, but following our lead will let you keep track of performances and receive alerts when your favourite acts are about to hit the stage – you’ll even get some backstage gossip and special onsite offers.

If you haven’t already, it’s also time to start scrambling to find a place to stay each night, because Wireless is unfortunately not a camping festival. Still, it’s London, so you aren’t exactly going to want for options.
